The Cove Lake Trail / Mt. Magazine Trail is a beautiful hike through the Ozarks.  Be sure and check out Signal Hill, the tallest point in Arkansas,  before your descent.   The first 1/8 of the hike is a steep decline that gives way to breath-taking views along bluffs, beautiful creek crossings, and wide assortment of wildlife.  Water can be scarce depending on the season, so plan accordingly.  Only the first 1/4 mile is actually in the State Park and hunting is allowed in the forest, so know if it's hunting season and wear appropriate safety colors.
