Whitaker Point (Hawksbill Crag)

Getting there: Head south on Highway 43 from Harrison and then take Highway 21 South through Boxley Valley south of Ponca. Turn right on County Road 5 (Cave Mountain Road) and travel approximately 6 miles to the trail head. When you arrive at the Cave Mountain Church, the trail head is .6 of a mile further. You will see a sign marker on the left of the dirt road with a big rock. Parking is on the right side or along the county dirt road. ( GPS: 35.897991, -93.457982 )

Used in hundreds of Arkansas publicationas and on billboards throughout the state, this old crag is the most photographed spot in Arkansas.  Avoid weekends and holidays or you'll be waiting in line for your turn to soak in the scenary.  The best time is early morning on a weekday to find solitude and amazing photo ops.  The 3 mile round trip trail is easy to follow and well maintained.
